Olive Meadows is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from Washington State University with a major in Digital Technology and Culture.
In the last three years, they’ve developed and honed their skills in all facets of website development, design, and management in university courses. They’ve gained experience in HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, and PHP coding. They are also familiar with website management sites like WordPress and cPanel.
They are currently looking for a long-term career in website development. They’d love to continue furthering their skills in relevant skills in a professional setting in the same way they’ve continued to hone them in personal and educational projects.

I’m where logic and imagination meet—code turns into art, and art turns into an experience. Web development isn’t just a technical exercise; it’s also an exploration of style, aesthetics, and how people connect with each other. My work is based on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Each line of code is a chance to make a digital experience that not only works but also interests people. In a world where simplicity reigns supreme, I relish the subtle details that transform a website into an engaging narrative that lingers with the user long after they close the computer window.
I think that clean design can still be interesting and full of personality in a field that values speed and simplicity. I draw inspiration from the vibrant personality and intricate details of maximalist styles such as Lolita fashion. However, I incorporate these styles into my own work in a more refined manner. I try to find a balance between making sites that are visually interesting and not too crowded. In this manner, I ensure that careful design draws users in, preventing them from feeling overwhelmed. My goal is to show that web development can combine purpose and personality to make experiences that are memorable without being too much.
I strive to learn how to create websites that are usable and accessible to everyone. As someone just beginning my journey in web development, I recognize that creating truly inclusive digital spaces is a complex and ongoing process. My commitment is to continually educate myself about digital accessibility, ensuring that websites can be navigated and enjoyed by people with diverse abilities. I believe that every person should have equal access to online experiences, regardless of their physical or cognitive capabilities. While I may not yet have mastered all the skills necessary to achieve this goal, I am dedicated to making accessibility a fundamental principle of my work. I aim to keep my code well-formatted and easy to read, understanding that good coding practices are crucial for creating adaptable and user-friendly websites.
At the heart of my approach is a belief in the power of intentional design. Each project is a conversation between form and function, where visual elements are not merely decorative but serve as a language of their own. I see my work as a form of digital storytelling, where every color choice, typography selection, and interactive element contributes to a larger narrative. Inspiration comes from diverse sources – from the intricate patterns of textile design to the clean lines of modernist architecture, from the vibrant energy of street art to the precise elegance of mathematical concepts. This cross-disciplinary approach allows me to break free from the conventional boundaries of web design.
Technology is constantly evolving, and with it, the landscape of digital experiences. I embrace this perpetual change not as a challenge, but as an opportunity for continuous learning and creative exploration. Each new framework, each emerging design trend is a chance to push the boundaries of what’s possible. I’m committed to staying curious, to never settling into a comfort zone, but always seeking to expand my skills and understanding. My toolkit is not just a collection of programming languages and design software, but a constantly growing ecosystem of creativity, empathy, and technical skill.
In our increasingly digital world, people crave more personalized and meaningful online encounters. As technology becomes the primary medium of connection, there’s a growing hunger for digital experiences that feel human, warm, and genuinely engaging. My work tries to bring back personality, innovation, and warmth to web design, which is a reflection of the spirit of entrepreneurship. I want to fight against the impersonal, generic trends that rule the web by making unique websites that intrigue and encourage discovery. In this way, I want to tell people that the web isn’t just a place to do things; it’s also a place to get ideas, feel things, and find new things.
